Welcome To The West Point Society of Central Florida
The West Point Society of Central Florida exists to serve alumni, ex-cadets and friends of The United States Military Academy living in Central Florida as well as those visiting the area. The purpose of this group is to provide a networking platform for those associated with the Academy, and provide news, information, and events related to the Academy as well as items of local interest to this group's members.
A number of us attended the Parents Club Howitzer Luncheon on May 14th. The luncheon was well attended and we all had a great time. Derrol Dennis ('54) was there with his family as well as Jim Dedmon ('79) and his wife.
The luncheon helps raise money for the Parents Club and there were a lot of great items to bid on. What made everything fun was the person leading the auction. I have uploaded some pictures from the auction and would be glad to upload more if anyone has some they would like to share. (Photo Gallery). I have a great picture of the person that led the auction and just from the picture alone you can imagine how much fun we had.
Founders Day was a great success with 154 people attending, doubling the turnout from the year before. We hadn't anticipated the level of support we received since the event was held on a Friday night. We were very excited with the turnout and support from all those who attended. If you haven't seen the pictures from Founders Day, please visit our Photo Gallery (Click Here).
We could not have made the evening the success it was without our sponsors support and I would like to thank them.
